How to Format an R4DS
- 1). Insert your R4DS MicroSD chip into your computer's card adapter. If one is not available on your computer, purchase a MicroSD adapter from your local computer store. Proceed to insert the MicroSD chip into the adapter, and then connect the adapter to a computer USB port.
- 2). Click the Windows "Start" button, followed by the "Computer" applet from the available options.
- 3). Right-click the R4DS MicroSD entry from the storage units list found to the left. This entry may be labeled "Removable Disk" among your main computer hard drives.
- 4). Click to select the "Format" option from the ensuing context menu.
- 5). Click the "File System" drop-down menu. Select "FAT" if the MicroSD card's capacity consists of 2GB or less. Otherwise, select the "FAT32" option for units of 2GB or greater.
- 6). Assign a name to the MicroSD card from the "Volume Label" field. Additionally, enable the "Quick Format" check box.
- 7). Click the "Start" button, followed by "OK" to continue. Allow the procedure to effectively format the storage unit, which typically takes less than one minute.
- 8). Click "Close" once the procedure finishes. Once formatted, you may effectively place any desired game or application into the chip.
