  Astoria is located in Queens and is synonymous with things Greek. The neighborhood does, however, contain a few surprises. Look between the gyro stands and Moussaka restaurants and you will find a club scene just begging for your attention. Vikings Dungeon

• The Vikings Dungeon mixes a kitschy castle decor with theatrical props such as axes, blood red velvet fabrics and faux animal skins to surprisingly good effect. A lounge with a full bar and economy-sized dance floor, the dungeon serves an eyebrow-raising smorgasbord of appetizers including seared squid, meatballs in tomato sauce and pinchitos. A DJ spins a mix of hip-hop, techno and pop. The lounge holds Karaoke nights each Tuesday. Dress code is casual and the club provides a coat check. Disabled Vikings are welcome.

Hell Social Club

• If you're a hipster in search of a home, the Hell Gate Social may satisfy your cravings as you saunter through Astoria. The club is smartly designed and adorned with a refreshing lack of clutter. Club guests are treated to a full bar and enticing bar eats such as applewood smoked bacon and avocado with a chermoula marinade, aioli and ciabattina--and an intimate back patio. Specialty drinks include the white vulture, a mix of guava nectar, lemon soda and white wine. A DJ is usually present, open mic night is Thursday, and the club regularly hosts live music, art exhibitions and locally produced film shorts. Arrive dressed casually chic.

Bungalo Lounge

• For club sorts who on principle refuse to walk out the door before midnight, the Bungalo Lounge is the place to be. Hopping with activity until near sunrise, Bungalo Lounge greets guests with dark furnishings, darker fine fabrics and candlelit tables that glow warmly off of wood floors. The lounge offers a full bar, a menu leaning towards Mexican cuisine, and a tiny dance floor. The kitchen is open until 2 a.m. and keeps the crowd energized during the very busy salsa Wednesdays, which include free lessons. A DJ spins a nightly mix of Latin, Hip-Hop, electronic, house and pop. The club strictly enforces its mandatory $3 coat check. Arrive dressed stylishly sharp.
