How to Perform a File Recovery From a USB Hard Drive
- 1). Download and install the "Pandora Recovery" software (link provided in "Resources"). Launch the software and click the external USB hard drive from the list of folders on the left side of the screen. Click "Scan," and the software scans the drive for any files it is able to recover. Once the scan has finished, a list of files available for recovery appears on the right side of the screen. Click the file and choose "Restore." This uploads the file back into its original location.
- 2). Download and install the "Get Data Back Data Recovery" program (link provided in "Resources"). Launch the program, then choose the USB hard drive from the list of options on the left side of the screen. Select "Search," and the program scans for any available files it is able to recover. Click on the files you want to recover (listed on the right side of the screen), then click "Restore." The files are now placed back on the USB hard drive.
- 3). Download and install "Data Recovery Wizard" (link provided in "Resources"). Selec the USB hard drive from the list of drives, then click "Next" and finally "Scan." The software now scans the external hard drive for all available files it is able to restore. These files are displayed in the middle of the program window. Select the files you want to place back on the USB hard drive and click "Restore." Momentarily the files are uploaded back onto the connected external drive.
