SIM City FAQ
- A Coal Power Plant
The city can't run without power, so this is the building that should be built first. A coal plant is cheaper, but it causes more pollution; a nuclear plant is cleaner, but it could explode and pollute your city with radiation. - Residentinal (R), Commercial (C) and Industrial (I) Zones
SimCity residents don't like pollution, so industrial zones should be placed away from residential zones. However, SimCity residents also don't like long commutes to their jobs in those industrial zones, so don't place industrial lots too far away and add green areas, such as parks, around the industrial zones to make them more appealing. - Police and Fire Stations Added to the City
Sim City residents don't like crime, so place a police station every few blocks to keep it low. Pair the police stations with fire stations so that any fires can be put out quickly. - Traffic Congestion in SimCity
SimCity residents hate traffic jams, so watch the traffic as it moves and make adjustments as necessary to improve clogged areas. Bridges are a common point of congestion, so if traffic becomes snarled there, add multiple routes across the water. - Disasters can happen at any time. A nuclear power plant always carries the risk of a nuclear disaster, but a SimCity can also experience fires that gut the city, tornadoes that cut a swath across neighborhoods, floods that swallow buildings near the shore and earthquakes that cause destruction throughout the city.
