Death of a Young Soul
When it comes to grasping the meaning of death, most people will tell themselves, "It's never going to happen to me," and so we live our lives as if we are the most invincible species ever to have been imagined out of the mind of God. What we don't realize is that we really don't understand anything, especially death. People may think they do and those who think they understand death are ignorant because no matter how many times in your life you have known of a person's death it changes you and affects you differently every time and will for eternity.
When you hear of someone dying and it is announced on the news you think to yourself, "That sucks. I'm glad it didn't happen to me." We blow it off, just like that. But nothing truly affects the mind like the death of your friends or family members.
People don't take their lives seriously enough sometimes and they don't realize who they are affecting if something happens to them. Just last night I learned of a friend to a great brother of my best friend, who I never knew about or of his story. Does anyone ever know someone's story?
We all like to think we "understand" these things, but we don't. This kid, named Seth Web died of an overdose at 19 years of age. Many people who read this will think, "Oh he's a teenager and it was probably suicide because he's way too emotional". No one will ever truly know the shit this kid went through in his life.
When you make an intense decision whether it is good or bad it will always hit someone in some way. Doing drugs is a release for some kids who feel as if they have no way out in this world. This kid was loved by everyone, and he didn't even realize it. When people asked him if he was alright, his pride swallowed his true feelings and he enveloped himself in a status lie, two simple words, "I'm ok".
Supposedly his own mother would battle endlessly with him. Do we know why or is that even important? As much as it seems that they hated each other, his mom said repeatedly that her only wish is that she would have him back. Those who feel as if they don't have a way out or that any one loves them should take a step back and look around and see all of those who truly have a desire to love and care for them. It may not always be ones parents but someone loves you, especially God and that should make you feel better. God loves all of us and died on the cross for us so, no matter what is happening in our lives, the Bible states he will always love us.
On this journey that life takes us, let us not take for granted anything or anyone because you never know what can happen tomorrow. This may seem basic and simplistic; yet, some people may feel that their world is slowly circling hell over and over.
In the course of my young life three very young souls have died without a name for they did not get the chance to live and express what they wanted, which was for people to hear what they had to say. That's all we need in this world, someone to listen to us, someone we can love and who will love us in return and that's what these kids thought they didn't have.
Are they to blame for such catastrophes? Maybe, but is it right not to care for someone in need? I think not. We as a people must live and listen for others. The actions we perform today can affect someone tomorrow. Death isn't a pretty sight and feeling a friend's grievances is excruciatingly painful. I don't understand death or where we go afterwards. Are we safe; why does death happen?
What I do know is that it doesn't have to happen to you on a daily basis for it to tear you to pieces. When strong men fall it seems as if the world is coming down. Death affects everyone psychologically in different ways and physically with different pains. We write about death or draw representations in our heads or on paper as simple ways to express ourselves, but we are never prepared for it when the next person close to us falls into sleep for eternity.
So, protect your life and live it to the fullest, never think that it won't happen to you because when it does those nearest to you will feel pain and suffering. Stay close to those who love you and hold on to that last bit of life in this world, because you never know; you just don't know when the death of a young soul will hit you.

Joel
My dear child you lie there so still; so peaceful in your induced coma, so
that you might heal quicker without the trauma of consciousness to
Distract you on the road to recovery. May the body sensitize to health.
May the power of God's merciful compassion come aid your wealth.
Restoring, mending, and repairing you from the center of your being,
recreating all that is damaged and redirecting a newness of seeing.
O, Holy Spirit, soul of our souls, watch while protecting us from all harm.
Seal us in Christ this very moment as you lead us to God in swift alarm.
