How to Fix Scratched Wood Floors
- 1). Dust the scratched area.
- 2). Mix wood floor cleaner according to directions and mop the entire floor.
- 3). Allow the floor to completely dry.
- 4). Color in the scratches with your stain marker. You may need to mix two colors to get the right shade. Allow to dry. The scratches should no longer be visible.
- 1). Dust away any dirt and debris from the scratched area.
- 2). Rough the area of the scratch with a piece of fine grit sand paper. Use gentle pressure and always work with the grain of the wood.
- 3). Apply a liberal amount of mineral spirits to your wash cloth.
- 4). Apply the mineral spirits in a circular motion to the scratched area of the wood.
- 5). Apply wax to the area that was scratched.
- 6). Buff off the wax. You floor should now be scratch free.
