Kids Science Project For A Girl
Here is a science project I did with my daughter so I know a girl will like doing the project.
She actually had a blast with this idea.
Any gender would like doing this demonstration and younger children all the way through middle school can experiment with this concept.
Items needed for the experiment:
You do not have to do this as long as you have access to water that can get fairly warm.
Place the three bowls next to each other on a table.
The containers need to be big enough to place your fist into without being cramped.
The one in the middle should be big enough to put both hands into.
Pour warm to almost hot water into the bowl on the left.
Put room temperature water into the middle one and put cold water in the right container.
Have your volunteer or someone watching the demonstration actually be the participant.
They place their hands in the outer bowls.
So their left hand is in the warm water and their right hand in the cold.
It is easiest to make a fist but they do not have to do this.
Let them leave their hands in the water for about 15 to 20 seconds and them immediately remove and plunge them both into the room temperature water.
Do not make too much of a mess but kids like being the volunteer to get their hands wet.
You should feel a different sensation in about 10 to 15 seconds.
What happened? Did both hands have a different feel or just one? Why do you think this happened? Enjoy this science project with your kids.
