- Dance floors come with a number of different advantages.mirror floor image by Svetlin Rusev from Fotolia.com
Dance floors, whether they're a part of a nightclub or an outdoor wedding reception, can be a huge advantage for any gathering where there will be music and, well, dancing. Whether you have a portable or permanent dance floor doesn't always matter, because different types of dance floors have different benefits. - If you're having a graduation party, wedding reception or other outdoor event, a portable dance floor is a great way to provide firm footing for dancers. This is especially true for dancers who are in high heels who may lose their balance or hurt themselves on softer, more yielding ground. Using a portable dance floor for circumstances like this will also help keep people's good shoes out of the grass and dirt so that there's a minimum of cleaning necessary.
- A dance floor marks out a specific area as the place for dancing, setting an invisible barrier between the places where eating and drinking are done. This can help keep order in any club or party where there will be a lot of people and not a lot of space. By making sure there's a dance floor available it stops people from dancing between tables, knocking things over and creating any sort of a scene by trying to dance where there just isn't enough room to do so.
- For dance competitions or dance training, the right kind of dance floor offers a lot of benefits to the dancers. Floating floors (dance floors that have a firm, top layer and a more absorbent bottom layer) provide the necessary friction and hard surface for a dancer to move properly on, but they also absorb part of the impact of a dancer's body. These floors allow dancers, and especially professional dancers, to go at full speed without worrying so much about putting too much strain on their joints, or the floor.
