104 8
    • 1). Visit your financial institution. Ask the teller for direct deposit information. The teller will hand you a slip with the institution's name and routing number. Ask for your account number if you're unsure of what it is, and write it on the information slip.

    • 2). Ask your employer for a direct deposit form. Fill out the information on the direct deposit form. Write the city and state that your financial institution is located in, the name of your financial institution, the bank routing number and your account number. Specify whether you want the paycheck deposited into your checking or savings account, and whether you wish to deposit the full paycheck amount, or a certain amount. Print and sign your name, and write in your Social Security number in the provided space.

    • 3). Hand in the direct deposit form, along with a voided check, to your employer. You can void a check simply by writing "Void" on the "Payee" line. Your employer will send the information to the company accounting department. Once the accounting department receives the information, your future paychecks will be deposited directly into your bank account.
