How do you know if you have a strong password? Could someone guess your password or use password cracking methods to figure it out? What type of password manager should you be using for your personal and professional password management? If you are not absolutely sure, you should probably keep reading.

Characteristics of a strong password:
Length: Number one on the list is usually length. It is obvious that if you use a longer password, password cracking will take longer to for a person or program to perform their password cracking magic. Unfortunately many applications have a limit on the number of characters you can use in your password. When the length has to be six characters or less, you need to pay extra attention to the other characteristics of a strong password listed below to protect yourself from password recovery techniques.
Uniqueness: Uniqueness is probably the second most important characteristic to prevent easy password recovery. The more random or unique the characters, the harder password cracking becomes. Mix it up a little. Use upper and lowercase letters as well as numbers in your passwords. Also part of being unique involves not using the same password for multiple applications. Try to use a new password for everything that you need password management for.
Personal retainability: A password is useless if you can not remember it or find a reference to it when you need it to open your protected document. If you have a lot of passwords and are not good at remembering them, use a password management application. A good example of a reliable password manager is the Aurora Password Manager. We specified personal retainability because you need to use a method where only you can retain the password and not other people or applications. Windows password recovery, Office password recovery and other lost password recovery problems are not to be taken lightly. You dont want to loose your data or not be able to access it.
Secure: The last, but not the least important characteristic is, a password must be secure. It needs to be secure in the sense that the application you are using is secure. If the application that stores your password isnt safe then all the other characteristics of your password are useless. Make sure you only use applications to save your important protected documents that use professional modern and secure encryption algorithms. This, above-all perhaps is a must. Read up on the applications you use. Even well known software such as Microsoft office and Windows are known to have issues in some of their applications. Check to see what editions are safe and what applications are best to protect you against Office password recovery, Word password recovery and lost password recovery of any kind.
