- 1). Visit a website that lists a vast quantity of Muslim names along with their meanings, such as Names 4 Muslims, BabyHold or Search Truth (see Resources).
- 2). Select the option to view names for "Boys" or for "Girls."
- 3). Scroll through the list of names that are listed on the websites. The names will typically appear in alphabetical order. Note that sometimes there will be variations in the spellings of names, due to the differences in the Arabic alphabet. If you do not wish to scroll through all of the names, click on the letter of the alphabet that the names begins with. The meaning of the name will appear beside the actual name.
- 4). Type the name that you are searching for in the search box on the website. Click on the "Search" option to retrieve the meaning of the name. If the name is in the website's database, the name will appear along with the meaning of the name.
- 5). Purchase a book that contains Muslim name meanings, such as the "Dictionary of Muslim Names " by Salahuddin Ahmed, or the "Digest of Muslim Names" by Fatimah Al-Jafari. Look up the name in the book to discover its meaning.
