Baby Shower Activities or Games
- Challenge guests to guess how big the expectant mother's belly is. Each guest should cut a piece of string that they think is the perfect length to fit around the pregnant woman's middle. After everybody has had their turn, give the mother-to-be the string and have her measure herself and cut the piece. Everybody can compare theirs to hers and see whose guess was closest.
- In the baby shower invitation, ask each guest to bring a baby photo. Display the photos on a table with a number by each photo and challenge guests to identify which photo matches which guest. As a related activity, while people arrive, print a few dozen copies of photos of the expectant mother and father and give guests scissors so they can cut and paste features from the parents to create pictures that show what the baby might look like.
- Although the expectant mother is probably quite skilled at maneuvering with a huge belly, the guests might not be as practiced. Set up a Twister game, but have each guest put on a fanny pack full of weights and stuff a large pillow into her shirt before playing. Of course, the expectant mother should sit this one so as to not hurt herself of her baby, but she can look on and give tips to the contestants.
- Before the expectant mother opens all the gifts at the baby shower, pass out blank bingo cards with a grid of 25 squares. Guests write a specific baby item in each square. While gifts are being opened, guests can mark the items off on their bingo cards. Whoever gets five in a row in any direction first wins.
