    • 1). Plug the S-Video cable into the back of the computer. Then plug the other end into the S-Video input on the back of the TV. The computer should still also be connected to the computer monitor. The audio jacks on the computer should also be connected to the audio jacks on the computer.

    • 2). The input on the television should be changed to show the S-video channel. Most people can do this by selecting "Input" on their television remote. If this option is not available, try pulling up the "Menu" on the TV.

    • 3). Turn the computer on. The image should come up as normal on the computer monitor and may come up on your TV. If it does, go to step 6.

    • 4). Right-click on the desktop, choose "Properties" from the menu that opens and select the "Settings" tab. Click on the button that says "Advanced."

    • 5). Find the "S-Video output" tab. The menu on this page allows you to engage or disengage. Select "Engage" and click "OK."

    • 6). Adjust the resolution being shown on the TV screen by going to the "Display Settings" tab and changing the "Screen Resolution" box. The setting used will depend on a number of variables, including the number of colors available from the computer monitor and the quality of the TV. Try a few screen resolutions to see which works best.
