If you are an "authorized user," it means you can use a credit card attached to the account, but someone else is the responsible party for payment. An authorized user is typically established by the primary account holder.
- 2). Call the credit card company. Use the customer service number on your credit card statement or on the back of the card. If you are not a joint or primary account holder, but instead an authorized user, you will not be able to remove a partner from the credit card.
- 3). Tell the credit card representative you would like to remove a person from the account. Provide the name of the partner. Obtain a confirmation number so you have proof of the call.
