Online Dating, Is It a Good Way To Meet Your Soulmate?
Are you tired of being alone? Do you want to find someone to date and spend time with? More and more people are opting to find their next partner and mate online. The reason for this is that we are very busy people and can't always meet them the old fashioned way.
There use to be a time when you could meet people through your friends or through church, maybe a sports team. These days however, the choices are very limited. As we juggle more and more tasks it is virtually impossible to find someone on our own. This is where the internet comes in.
There are many dating sites online that allow you to search and view profiles of prospective dates. Such sites include Match.com, eharmony and even Yahoo personals. I'm here to tell you that it does work. I've spent the last 10 years dating exclusively online and currently have met my soul mate.
There are many benefits to online dating:
I met my partner of 5 years on Yahoo Personals and we have been together ever since. My partner searched for what she was looking for, type of person, interests, location, etc and I came up. After a couple of short emails we decided to meet and it was love at first site.
I'm not saying that each person you meet will be the one that you will marry, however it certainly provides you with lots of opportunities to date and see if your special person is really out there. Remember, online is really just a subset of people that you would meet at the local grocery store, etc. It is not any more unsafe to meet someone online then it is to meet them while jogging in the park. Just do your due diligence and you will be fine.

There are many benefits to online dating:
- Can view their picture as well as their profile which includes interest, hobbies, etc..
- They are prescreened for backgrounds when you use a dating service online
- You are able to look at hundreds of potential suitors in a short amount of time, imagine having to meet 100 people offline? That would be tough.
- You have the option of meeting others that reside in nearby cities. For example, if you live in Boston you may find a potential date in Malden which is a suburb of Boston.
- It certainly opens up the pool of candidates when you use online resources.
