It often imitates Windows programs, such as Windows Alerts, using pop-up messages to intimidate and sell Internet Antivirus Pro and other illegitimate programs. Additional malware also is stored that can interfere with access to Internet Explorer.
  
  

False Alerts

• Internet Antivirus Pro will cause a computer to frequently display false alerts. The alerts warn that different types of malicious software are attempting to infect your computer. The program also warns that you must buy the software to eliminate the false threats.
  
  

False Microsoft Logos

• Internet Antivirus Pro also displays a false Windows Security Center message. More malware can infect the computer by accessing options contained in the false Windows Security Center.
  
  

Additional Malware

• One of the programs Internet Antivirus Pro installs hijacks Internet Explorer so it frequently displays a message saying that a web page you are trying to access is unsafe. It then directs you to a page where scam Internet Antivirus Pro products are pitched.
