  In order to keep your house looking its best, and to reduce the amount of airborne allergens and debris that cause disease, you need to clean your home on a regular basis. To help your garden stay lush and productive, you need to tend to it regularly as well. There are several cleaning tips for the home and garden that you can follow.
  
  

Bedroom

• Some of the many concerns with bedrooms are the collection of bacteria and other contaminants in the sheets and in the bedding material itself. According to Country Living, you should plan on flipping your mattresses according to manufacturer's instruction to reduce wear on the mattress and to eliminate the buildup of bacteria. The flipping recommendations will be on the tag attached to the mattress. Flipping a mattress can also help maintain its firmness for a longer period of time. Change your bedsheets and clean your bed padding at least once a week as well.
  
  

Windows

• According to Good Housekeeping, maintaining clean windows is important to the look of your house and the health of your family. If you do not remove your window screens, then clean them at least once a year with a standard solution of warm water and dish-washing soap. Cleaning the screens reduces the amount of airborne debris that could come off the screens and get into your home. When you use a cleaning solution to clean your glass windows, be sure to use it during a cloudy day for optimum results. Concentrated sunlight on window-cleaning solution will cause it to dry and leave streaks.
  
  

Pruning

• Pruning the plants in your garden is important to maintaining their health and keeping a clean garden, according to Old Fashioned Living. Cut any dead plants down to just above the soil when their growing season is over, and dispose of the clippings in the trash. This will clean up your garden, and allow healthy plants to regrow in the next growing season.
  
  

Make Room

• As you plant in your garden, you will notice your plants getting bigger, and some of them may be multiplying. To avoid having plants choke each other by growing so close together, it is best to transplant the newer plants each year to different parts of your garden. It makes your garden look more organized, and it gives all of your plants a chance to grow.
