  The city of Canela is located in the state of Rio Grande do Sul. The locals are a mix of German and Italian immigrants with Indians and Rio Grande do Sul mountaineers. The area offers shopping, dining, Caracol Park with a waterfall, lookout, restaurant, arts and crafts, and ecology trails. The Ferradura Park offers trails with lookout points, a snack bar, and a playground. Tourists can climb the walls of the parks' canyon or visit the Arroio Cacador waterfall. For those that enjoy river rafting, the Paranhana River offers a 2-hour rafting trip. A four-day International Puppet Theater Festival is held each year between the months of June and August.
  
  

Hotel Klein Ville Canela

• According to the Kayak website, at the Klein Ville Hotel Canela, guests are treated to air conditioned rooms with cable television. Some of the rooms overlook the hotel gardens. Guests have access to the hotel swimming pool, sauna, Jacuzzi and fitness center. Other activities offered at the hotel include a Spa and Wellness Center, massage, a playground for children, game room, table tennis and barbecue facilities. The hotel offers a restaurant and bars as well as 24-hour front desk service and free parking. Wi-Fi is available for a fee. One 5-year old or younger child can stay at no additional charge as long as no additional bed is needed. Pets are not allowed in the hotel. Pousada Cravo

• The Pousada Cravo is located in downtwon Canela. The mansion was built in the 1950s and belonged to the former Rio Grande do Sul's Governor, Ildo Meneghetti's family, according to Kayak. The hotel is surrounded by centenary trees and a flower garden. The Pousada has 12 suites, a bar, game room, sauna, and swimming pool with hydromassage.
  
  

Pousada do Bosque

• Pousada do Bosque is a chalet-style hotel located just over a mile from the center of Canela. A breakfast is served daily. The hotel is a few miles from the restaurants of Gramado. The suites offer king size beds and free Wi-Fi. Smaller rooms at the hotel offer a minibar and television, while the larger suites offer balconies with countryside views and private Jacuzzis. The hotel also offers billiards in the game room or bike rental to explore Canela. Pousada do Bosque is just under a mile from the Canela Airport and car rental is available at the hotel.
