How to Install Memory for a Toshiba Satellite L35-S2316
- 1). Unplug the power cable from the side of the Toshiba Satellite L35-S2316, if it's connected. Ensure that there are no other devices or cables attached, and power off the Satellite laptop.
- 2). Push the top display screen lid into its closed position. Turn the Satellite L35-S2316 over so that the black battery pack is facing you. The battery pack is positioned at the top edge of the case.
- 3). Find both of the battery latches, which are positioned to the right of the battery pack and at the bottom-left of the battery pack. Slide both latches to the right simultaneously so the battery pack pops up.
- 4). Grip the exposed edge of the battery pack and pull it out of the Satellite L35-S2316. Use a Phillips screwdriver to remove the two screws located below the empty battery pack bay.
- 5). Lift off the black, rectangular plastic cover that was held in place by the screws. The two green memory modules are directly under the cover.
- 6). Push over the two metal clips holding the top and bottom end of the memory modules in place. Hold the top and bottom ends of the first memory module and slide it out of the computer at a 45-degree angle.
- 7). Remove the second module in the same way if you are replacing both memory modules. Insert your replacement memory module in the memory port at the same angle. Check the bottom edge of the module to ensure that the notches are properly aligned with the memory port.
- 8). Install the second memory module in the same way if you are replacing both modules. Set the metal bars at the top and bottom into position so that the modules remain in place. Put the previously removed plastic cover over the modules and replace the two Phillips screws.
- 9). Snap the battery pack back into the bay at the top of the Satellite L35-S2316.
