Photography Ideas - 10 Things You Can Take a Picture of Right Now

103 3
Photographers can get into a writer's block of sorts.
Instead of "what am I going to write" it's "what picture am I going to shoot"? Sometimes it's just as easy as looking around you.
Here are ideas for 10 things that you can take right now.
1.
Your pet.
Dogs and cats are always good subjects.
Cats are the biggest challenge.
They have problems staying focused.
It definitely helps to have a supply of squeaky noisy toys on hand for a source of distraction and attention.
2.
Your home.
A couple good reasons for this.
Insurance photos to be put in a safety deposit box.
Pictures of the rooms in your home would be good for use in an MLS listing.
3.
Inanimate objects.
There are tons of things around you.
A can of soup, glass vase or a marble.
This is great for learning focus and composition.
You should be able to find a way to make art from any subject.
Andy Warhol could do it with a soup can, so can you.
4.
Picture from the inside of your home or office to the outside.
It can be a challenge trying to control lighting.
Too dark in the inside can cause the outside to be washed out.
You must play around with the ISO and f-stop to get the perfect balance.
5.
Your lunch.
Food stylists can actually be a cool form of art.
It take light and focus to actually create a sense of want and desire for food.
6.
Your family.
Who else is going to understand that it is important to practice.
If you are a Photo-phile, they will understand that it is their job to be supportive of your shutter bugged behavior.
7.
Your car.
I know that it seems simple.
Wait until you try it.
It can be very hard to capture light and curves of a vehicle.
The long lines along the side makes it hard to give a sense of depth.
8.
Flowers.
Not only can they be a beautiful and colorful subject.
They also bring other subjects into the pictures which are both interesting and challenging to photograph.
Butterflies and bumble bees can add a dimension of depth and the challenge of focusing on moving objects.
9.
Your neighbors.
Make sure that they know.
Candid shots of neighbors can be creepy.
10.
Yourself.
Trying to take a picture of yourself can be extremely difficult.
The person you see in the mirror is not as easy as you think to capture in a photo.
Practice makes perfect.
The more you take pictures of varying size, shapes and motion, the better you become as a photographer.
Good luck.
