How to Make Every Other Row a Color in a QuickBooks' Template

  • 1). Launch QuickBooks. Select the Edit Forms option. The Edit Forms window will appear. Select the template for which you want to edit the color scheme and click "Edit." The template will launch.

  • 2). Click the DetailInner band. The Property Grid window will appear on the right side of the screen.

  • 3). Locate the Styles section in the Property Grid window. Click the ellipsis ("...") icon. The Style Editor window will appear.

  • 4). Click the green "+" icon at the top left corner of the Style Editor window. Within the design section, change the default style name to one that describes the style you are creating, for example "alternating line color."

  • 5). Locate the Background Color option within the Miscellaneous section. Click the downward pointing arrow icon to display a drop-down list of color options.

  • 6). Select the desired color from the list. You will see a preview of the color. Click the "x" icon to close the Style Editor.

  • 7). Click the DetailInner band to bring up the Property Grid window again. Expand the Styles section. Three options will appear: Even Style, Odd Style and Style. To apply color to every other line in the template, select Even Style.

  • 8). Open the File menu and click "Save." Alternating lines of color will be visible the next time you open the template.
