- 1). Launch Firefox and make your way to "Java.com."
- 2). Select the "Download" link, then download the program. In a moment Java downloads to your computer. The application is small so it only takes a few moments to complete.
- 3). Close out of Firefox and all other Internet programs you are using on the system. Java 1.5 installs onto all of these programs and the software can not upgrade while they are still open.
- 4). Double-click the downloaded file to launch the installation wizard. Read through and accept the license agreement, then leave the installation name and location the same. Click "Install" and the program will install onto your computer.
