How to Connect a PC to a Sony TV
- 1). Turn off your computer and Sony television.
- 2). Unplug your computer monitor's VGA cable from the back of your PC. The VGA cable is the primary cable coming from most monitors; it will be thicker than any audio cables running from the monitor to the PC, and it typically features a blue or black tip. In some cases, your VGA cable port may already be empty since some specialty monitors use other ports. However, even if you are not using the port, virtually every PC has a VGA port, since Microsoft reports that VGA monitors are recognized as the "default" choice by the Windows operating system.
- 3). Plug a male-VGA-to-male-RCA cable (see Resources) into the now-empty VGA slot on your computer.
- 4). Plug the RCA end of the VGA-to-RCA cable into open RCA ports on your TV. RCA cables have color-coded tips; make sure you plug the right color into the right port to ensure proper functionality.
- 5). Turn on your PC and Sony TV, then set the input on your TV to "RCA." Your PC is now fully connected to your Sony TV, and your computer's display will show up on the television screen.
