- 1). Double click the "My Computer" or "Computer" icon on the desktop in any version of Windows.
- 2). Click and hold the right mouse button on the icon for C: drive.
- 3). Scroll down the list to "Properties" and release the mouse button.
- 4). Click on "Tools" once, then select "Defragment Now".
- 5). Press the button in the defragment program marked "Analyze" for the program to gather the needed information before defragmenting your computer drive.
- 6). Wait for the analysis to complete, then press the "Defragment" button, and let your computer work.
