How to Obtain a Business License in Henrico County, Virginia
- 1). Get a business license application from the Henrico County finance department. This can be picked up from their offices in Room 136 of the Western Government Center at 4301 East Parham Road, or at the Eastern Government Center at 3820 Nine Mile Road. You can also download an application from the department's website (see References).
- 2). Calculate the amount of gross revenue you expect your company to make this calendar year. The amount of your license tax will be based on this number.
- 3). Thoroughly complete the business license application. Provide the gross revenue projection you determined as well as the licensee trade name, mailing and physical location address for the company, employer identification number or owner's social security number, beginning date of operation in Henrico County, business entity type and the owner's signature.
- 4). Calculate your license tax by comparing your projected gross revenue to the tax tables on pages 1 and 2 of the application. If your gross receipts will be less than $100,000, you should expect no licensing tax.
- 5). Return your completed application to the Henrico County government's finance department.
