- 1). Double-click on the installation files. If you downloaded Norton 2009 directly from the Symantec website, this file will be on your desktop. If the installation file has been lost, log in to your account and then re-download it from the "Order Status" web page. Note: you can only re-download your file for up to a year from the purchase date. If you have Norton 2009 on a CD, simply run the installation file from the disk.
- 2). Go through the install prompts and install the program to the default location. When prompted, insert your Norton product key. This number is found on the inside of the disc case if you have the physical version. If you have a downloaded version, you should be able to find your product key in your account information.
- 3). Restart the computer. Once your computer reboots, you will see the Norton Anti-virus icon on the desktop. Launch it by double-clicking on it.
