What Is Virtual Earth 3D?
- Virtual Earth 3D features full three-dimensional models of major cities, including Los Angeles, Detroit and San Francisco. The user can "fly" through these cities and see buildings, geographical features and landmarks up close. Additionally, the Locate feature tracks a user's Internet connection to mark their location on the map.
- With the 4.0 release of Virtual Earth 3D, the program's name was changed to Bing Maps 3D, to coincide with Microsoft Live Maps becoming Bing Maps. Despite the renaming, the software's features have remained the same.
- Bing Maps 3D can be downloaded for free from Microsoft's website. Search "Bing Maps 3D" at Microsoft.com for more information.
