In this article we are going to first look at why this is such a difficult problem and then discuss one halitosis cure that you could use from home to help you with your breath problem.
The reason there is not one 'fix all' halitosis cure is because there are a number of factors that can contribute to its development and these differ between individuals.
For some it may be a failure to floss and brush properly whilst for others it could be the result of lactose intolerance failing to break down the sugars in any consumed diary products.
One common cause of halitosis is having acidic conditions within the mouth.
When the mouth is an acidic environment it makes it an ideal breeding ground for bad breath causing bacteria.
Obviously this is something we want to avoid and fortunately we can with the help of one simple ingredient you may already have in your cupboards.
Baking soda has long been known as a powerful cleaning agent and stain remover but it can also be a useful cure for halitosis in the right circumstances as it can help to reduce the acidity of the mouth making it a much more inhospitable place for bacteria to breed.
To use baking soda as a halitosis cure either mix with a small amount of water to create a paste or a larger amount to create a solution.
You can either brush the teeth and tongue with the paste of gargle and swish the solution.
Repeated twice daily while at the same time avoiding acidic foods like orange juice as well as sugary foods and drinks will lower the acidity of the mouth and help cure your bad breath.
