During a woman's lifetime, she will shed strands of hair during certain times of the year, which is absolutely normal.
But, when it begins to thin and fall out, or the forehead recedes, to prevent it from becoming any worse, it may be time to try one of the many hair loss prevention products.
The first thing any woman should do, is call for an appointment with their physician to find out the cause.
It could be hormonal, nutritional, environmental or simply for no reason whatsoever.
But before trying any hair loss prevention products, ruling out what is wrong will help in the successful treatment and restoration of hair and its growth.
Some doctors may prescribe a steroid treatment or suggest the purchase of a product with Minoxidil such as Rogaine or Provillus.
Treatment may be as simple as letting the hair dry naturally or getting on a vitamin regimen.
In some cases, certain medications taken during illnesses may cause balding, and when treatment is ended, regrowth will occur.
There is no such thing as over the counter hair loss prevention products, which will make smooth, fine hair, thick and wavy.
Not permanently anyway.
Believing in some magical product is tempting, but it's important to keep in mind that only surgery will actually solve a severe hair loss condition.
Yes, vitamins especially the B vitamins, and eating a diet rich in lean proteins, fresh fruits and vegetables and drinking plenty of water will help hair from within and also assist in keeping the it as healthy as possible, but as for external treatments, they are simply not going to work long term.
This is especially true for genetic balding conditions.
Massaging the scalp using an oil such as olive or coconut, stimulates the hair follicles.
This in turn, causes the hair to grow.
Taking a supplement with zinc may help unclog the follicles as well, and restore normal hair growth.
Many hair loss prevention products on the market will work well, but be sure to check them out first with a doctor because some may contain dangerous ingredients or interact with any medications being taken presently.
