The new sketch of GRE is Multi-State Design, where you can go back and forward in a particular section and edit the answers. You can mark and go back to a question and answer. It is different from the way the current GRE works. The aim is to produce a more accepted test experience.

The verbal section is the most changed section of the whole GRE. There will be more complex reasoning. No antonyms and analogies. No vocabulary out of context.  Having good GRE vocabulary is one thing and ability to answer questions in GRE test is another. You need to have both the skills to get high GRE Verbal score.

Construction your vocabulary just for GRE exam is not a painless process. If you plan to take GRE in 6 months time, you might start reading good book like Barron's GRE Word lists and assume that you can score 500+ in GRE Verbal section.

Just learn all the words lists one at a time. Have a target of 5 to 6 wordlists per week or 1 word list per day. Read 3 word list, then make sure you can recollect all the words before starting 4th word list. You can mix it up by starting 1 to 3 then 50 to 60 and back to 1 to 5 and so on.
