How to Remove the Bone From a Pork Shoulder
- 1). Lay the shoulder on the cutting board, skin side down.
- 2). Locate both ends of the bone. Next, position the knife on top of the widest, thickest end of the shoulder and right beside the bone.
- 3). Slice deep enough into the pork that the knife touches the bone. Put the knife on one side of the cut meat and carefully pull the other side back until you can see the bone.
- 4). Cut the meat away from the side of the bone. Next, cut the meat off the other side of the bone.
- 5). Pull the bottom of the bone up and cut the flesh away from under it until the bone comes loose. Your pork shoulder is now ready to prepare for cooking.
