- 1). Visit the Goldenrod radio tower to unlock the radio signals in the game. The different radio shows provide different programming.
- 2). Listen to the Lucky Channel, 8.5, hosted by Reed. The Lucky Number radio show announces a Pokemon ID every in-game week.
- 3). Capture a Pokemon in the wild with exactly the same ID as the Lucky Channel's announcement.
- 4). Bring the pokemon back to Goldenrod for a free master ball. This can be repeated multiple times for extra balls, but only once for each in-game week.
- 5). Visit Professor Elm in New Bark Town once you have defeated eight of the game's gym leaders and obtained their trainer badges. Elm will give you a master ball as a reward for your accomplishment.
