How to Get a Curry Smell out of Furniture
- 1). Mix together 2 cups warm water and 1/2 cup white vinegar.
- 2). Dip a cloth into the mixture and wring it out. Use it to wipe down furniture surfaces that smell like curry. Avoid saturating upholstery.
- 3). Open the windows in the room and turn on fans if possible.
- 4). Place a block of charcoal under seat cushions in the furniture to further help with odor absorption.
- 5). Sprinkle a light dusting of baking soda in inconspicuous places, such as under the couch or beneath the cushions. Like vinegar and charcoal, baking soda is a natural odor fighter.
- 6). Air the couch in the sunshine for several hours if possible. Do this on a sunny, breezy day. Avoid leaving the couch outside for long periods, as the sunlight may fade its color.
- 7). Spritz the couch with an odor neutralizing spray. This type of spray smells pleasant like an air freshener, but also works to neutralize odors rather than merely masking them.
- 8). Tuck dryer sheets under the cushions for a hidden dose of fresh scent as well.
