• A veterinarian or shelter can scan a HomeAgain microchip in a lost pet. When a scan is done on a pet, an identification code will show up and provide your contact information.
  
  

Placement

• The microchip is 12 mm long, approximately the size of a grain of rice. It is placed between a pet's shoulder blades just beneath the skin. A veterinarian places the microchip using a needle, and the process takes a few seconds. HomeAgain uses Bio-Bond, which keeps the microchip in place.
  
  

Safety

• Microchips have been tested and found to be safe for dogs and cats. HomeAgain microchips are made from inert biocompatible material. The microchip will not cause an allergic reaction or degenerate over time.
  
  

Locating a Lost Pet

• When you notice your pet is missing, contact HomeAgain. Veterinarians and shelters near your home receive a rapid lost pet alert. HomeAgain will supply you with posters to place around your neighborhood.
  
  

Additional Services

• If your pet is injured while lost, HomeAgain offers medical insurance that covers up to $3,000 in medical bills. Travel assistance is available to transport a lost pet up to 500 miles.
