Do you need to know how to get over a relationship? If you've recently been dumped, this is probably foremost on your mind.
Let's face it, we all fear rejection, and when it actually happens to us, we want to do just about anything to get over the horrible feelings it brings up in up in us.
Yet, when we set out to feel better, we find that it's easier said than done.
It takes time to forget the past and heal from the wounds of a breakup.
One of the first reactions we might have when we become desperate to know how to get over a relationship is to try anything to please the ex.
After all, we're all raised to believe that people will love us based on how well we live up to their expectations.
We often feel this way at young ages, such as when we associate getting good grades in school with our parents' approval.
So, it's not uncommon for someone to go out of their way to try to be everything their ex wants them to be, in the hopes of bringing about a reconciliation.
Sometimes this tactic works, but it's almost always temporary.
When you're trying so hard to please another person to the extent that you ignore your own needs, you're not being true to yourself.
Eventually, your true self will come through, and you'll become resentful for placing your needs on the backburner for your partner.
This is a sure recipe for another breakup.
Instead, what you need is self-confidence.
Self-confidence is attractive, and will naturally draw people to you and keep them there.
Once you develop confidence and self-esteem, you may find that you don't need to know how to get over a relationship anymore.
You may just forget all about your ex and start enjoying the company of lots of other people who adore you as you deserve.
If you really DO want to get back with your ex once you've developed confidence, this new state of mind will help bring him back and bind him to you permanently.
