Tips on How to Lose the Love Handles
Back when I was playing college baseball, I was in pretty good shape, but there was one area on my body that used to constantly burdened me, and that is my love handles.
Call it genetics (or bad eating habits), no matter how hard I worked out, those things would not disappear! It wasn't until I finished college and fell out of shape that I discovered the secret to losing the love handles.
I've decided to share those secrets with you below.
Tip #1: Eat Healthy.
Eating healthy is very important when trying to lose body fat.
Why? If you follow a healthy diet, you will be monitoring your calories and taking in foods that are important for the body.
The way to lose weight and body fat is to burn more calories than your consume.
Remember, though, you burn calories with everything that you do throughout the day, not just with your workout, so it's important for you to take that into consideration when determining your caloric intake.
You want to make sure you stay away from foods like candy, doughnuts, chocolate, cookies, and cake, which all contain a lot of sugar, or simple carbohydrates, spiking the insulin levels and promoting fat storage.
Staying away from these foods and replacing them with healthier alternatives such as fruits, vegetables, and whole grain products will help you lose weight! Tip #2: Commit to a Workout Routine.
It's also very important to work out consistently.
Like I mentioned above, the way to burn fat and lose weight is to burn more calories than you take in, and working out burns a ton of calories, especially if you're doing high intensity workouts.
Not only does working out help you burn calories, but it also increases your metabolism, helping you burn more fat and lose more weight.
Tip #3: Push Beyond Your Comfort Zone.
For some reason, most people hate getting outside their comfort zone.
Whenever most people do something that isn't normal for them or they are uncomfortable with, then they quit doing it.
In the case of working out, whenever there is pain (or burn), people stop exercising.
If you haven't worked out for a while, it's inevitable that you will be sore for the first 1-3 weeks.
Instead of giving up during this time, push through the soreness.
Instead of quitting the moment you begin to feel burn during an exercise, try to get 2-3 more reps.
This is one of the main reasons why I've been able to get into excellent shape.
Tip #4: Be in it For the Long Run.
After I completely changed my diet and committed myself to a workout routine, results didn't come overnight.
I still had those love handles for a good 2 months after I started, but the stubborn fat areas were beginning to diminish.
I've learned that patience is key when you're trying to get into great shape.
The positive things that you do every day will set up your success in the future.
Be patient and stay focused on your goals.
If you can take the tips that I have given above and work them into your life, I can assure you that you will see results.
These are things that I have personally done to make the shift from an unhealthy lifestyle to a healthy one.
