Public Information Strategies

104 1

    Relevance

    • Released public information must be relevant in form. Public information should be released to the public population it benefits. For example, young college students wouldn't need public information related to elderly care needs. More relevant information might be career or job fair information.

    Accuracy

    • Public information should be accurate in content. This means it is up-to-date with current times and dates if it revolves around an event, for example. It contains the appropriate information regarding the people needing such information. Flyers, handbills or other forms of public information must always be accurate to afford viability and trustworthiness to persons who distribute such information. In order for public information to be accurate it must also comply with any regulations and guidelines established through the company or state and local governments.

    Availability

    • At all times public information is readily available. Information on free health drives, products or other services for the public is easily available with realistic and flexible direction or instruction. Public information points to clear aims, objectives and priorities.
