An electromagnetic motor is very clean source of energy and has 3 main parts. The motor converts the potential energy into mechanical energy. The current is utilized to rotate the coil. Here is how you can build an electromagnetic motor:
  1. Wrap a copper wire around a D cell battery to make a coil. However, leave at least an inch of wire straightened at both ends. The ends will function as lead wire.
  2. Using a sandpaper, scrape off the insulation from the top of each lead wire but be careful not to remove the varnish.
  3. Place the battery and magnet in a holder designed for this. When you put the coil in the holder, it will start spinning. You might have to give it a little push if it doesn't start spinning on its own.

What happens is that the coil and the battery form a closed circuit only when the lead ends touch the holder slots. Thus, sufficient electricity flows through the coil to create a magnetic field. The job of the varnish on one half of the lead wire is to disrupt the flow of electricity in each turn of the coil. The electricity flows in the coil only when unvarnished part of the lead is in contact. Due to this alternating phenomenon, the coil continues to spin.

Thus, the electromagnetic motor can be used as a generator to generate electricity. Building an electromagnet is easy and you can do it quite easily yourself. In addition, the materials required are easily available at all hardware shops.   The main advantage of an electromagnetic motor is that it doesn't cause any pollution and is very environment-friendly.

You can cut down your electricity bill significantly using electromagnetic motors. They can work for all kinds of home and need only a small space.
