Ask for advice on which product they recommend, and if you have any questions on the proper way to use it, be sure to ask. - Read and follow the directions and safety precuastions to the letter.

- Choose a treatment specifically designed for your pet.
Things like; weight, general health of your pet, if it's for a cat or dog, are critical considerations.

Bottom line is, a cat's physiology is more sensitive to certain chemicals (and some natural substances by the way), and so extra care must be taken. - You might consider treating your pets only when flea and ticks are present.
In areas where these pests are seasonal, or after an infestation has been brought under control, you might be able to curtail treatment or cut back on frequency.
