    Turning JavaScript On in Windows 98 (Internet Explorer 4)

    • 1). Click the "View" menu at the top of the screen, then click "Internet Options."

    • 2). Click the "Security" tab. Use the "Zone" drop-down menu to select "Internet Zone," then select the radio button below labeled "Custom (for expert users)." Click the "Settings" button.

    • 3). Scroll down to the "Java" category, then select the "Enabled" radio buttons under "Active Scripting" and "Scripting of Java Applets."

    • 4). Click "OK" twice.

    • 5). Close and re-open Internet Explorer or refresh the current page.

    • 1). Click the "Tools" menu at the top of the screen, then click "Internet Options."

    • 2). Click the "Security" tab. Select the "Internet" icon under "Select a Web content zone to specify its security settings," then click the "Custom Level" button.

    • 3). Scroll down to the "Scripting" category, then select the "Enabled" radio buttons under "Active Scripting," "Scripting of Java Applets" and "Allow Paste Operations via Script."

    • 4). Click "OK" twice.

    • 5). Close and re-open Internet Explorer or refresh the current page.
