How to Sell a Time Share Property
- 1). Research the value of your timeshare by checking websites such as Redweek.com and MyResortNetwork.com for comparable timeshares for sale. Don't expect that your timehare has gone up in value. "Most timeshares sell on the resale market for only 30 percent to 50 percent of the price you likely initially paid to the developer when you purchased," reports The Timeshare Users Group website.
- 2). Advertise your timeshare in several locations. Post flyers on a community bulletin board at the timeshare facility and list your timeshare in "TimeSharing Today," Redweek.com or MyResortNetwork.com. Another option is to place your timeshare on an online auction site such as eBay or BidShares.com.
- 3). Complete the transaction with the help of a lawyer or by using a prepared document kit or a timeshare selling service. The timeshare selling kits are less expensive and contain ready-to-use written agreements as to the terms of the sale and transfer of ownership information. Timeshare transfer services or lawyers will cost more, but these services take care of all the paperwork, transfer of funds and deed documentation for you.
