How Do I Install a Checkolite Pot Rack?
- 1). Turn off the electrical power at the main breaker.
- 2). Use the stud finder to locate a stud in the ceiling of your desired hanging location. Mark the stud.
- 3). Place the ceiling junction box flat against the ceiling, trying to center the mounting holes with your mark. The mounting holes inside the box should be as centered as possible. Trace around the outside of the box along the ceiling.
- 4). Screw the threaded pipe about 1/2 inch into the mounting bar. The lips of the mounting bar should face the pipe and the longest section of the pipe screws into the mounting plate.
- 5). Screw the two machine screws through the mounting plate and into the two side holes protruding from the inside of the junction box.
- 6). Attach the junction box and the mounting plate to the ceiling, using your tracing as a guide, with the 1/4-inch screws. The screws go into the middle holes of the mounting plate, through the corresponding holes in the middle of the junction box and into the ceiling. Your screws should be going into the stud.
- 7). Install the canopy. This is a test installation to make sure that there is 5/8 inch of the pipe sticking through the hole in the canopy. If there is more or less than this length, screw the threaded pipe in or out to adjust. Remove the canopy and the mounting bar and set aside.
- 8). Screw a hex nut onto the threaded pipe at the section that screws into the junction box, without moving the pipe. Tighten the hex nut with a wrench. This locks the pipe into the proper position on the mounting bar.
- 9). Reattach the mounting bar to the junction box using the two machine screws. Screw a second hex nut onto the threaded pipe on the opposite end (the end sticking out from the underneath the mounting bar). Attach the mounting bar and the junction box in the same manner as earlier.

Attach the clear, smooth wire in the canopy to the black power supply wire in the ceiling. Place a wire connector over the connection point. Attach the clear, ridged wire in the canopy to the white power supply wire in the ceiling and add a wire connector. - 11
Attach the remaining wire in the canopy (the ground wire) to the third wire in the ceiling (power supply ground wire) and add a wire connector. Tuck the wires into the junction box carefully so you don't pull the wires out of the wire connectors. - 12
Push the canopy up to the ceiling and lock in place with the decorative knob, which screws onto the threaded pipe.
