Political Phone Calls - Do Not Call Lists Don"t Stop Them
So you thought getting on the famous FTC - Federal Trader Commission "Do Not Call List" would stop those phone calls.
Not so, in fact you have probably received a few of those "Robo-Political Calls" haven't you - these are the ones, which are completely automated and when you say hello the voice machine starts.
You think to yourself, hey, you cannot do that, may name and phone number is on a Do Not Call List.
Oh yes they can - why? Well, because your wonderful politicians put in a little exemption for themselves and the FTC let them, isn't that the most disgusting thing you have ever heard of? Your friend whose kid is on your kid's soccer team, owns the local Pizza Store and he cannot call you to invite you in for a free-pizza to introduce his new store, but some political action committee, can call you and harass you all day long.
How can this be, what about privacy rules and the Do Not Call List? Well, they do not apply to politicians.
One non-profit group that has had enough stated in a recent press release:
