Lose Your Baby Weight - Part II

103 8
So you learned in "Lose Your Baby Weight - 3 Ways To Start Losing Your Baby Weight Today" 3 important things about when, how, & what to eat.
You know you need to eat as soon as you get up, you need to eat every 3 hours, & you need to eat lots of protein.
What else can you do to lose that baby weight? LOTS! Water To further your weight loss plan, you need to drink water, & plenty of it! You've probably heard that you need to drink 8 eight ounce glasses of water every day, right? Well, you really should be drinking even more than that.
You need to drink half of your weight in ounces of water every day.
So if you weigh 200 pounds, you need to drink 100 ounces of water every day.
Why so much? The most obvious reason is hydration.
We have to keep our body & organs hydrated so they can function properly.
Water helps to flush toxins out of your system.
Water also helps to flush out the fat that you're burning, which results in you losing weight.
There's not much sense in burning fat if you're not eliminating it from your body! Salt The flip side of drinking water is watching your salt intake.
If you're ingesting too much salt, you need to drink even more water.
Better yet, cut down on the salt! Too much salt isn't good for your body, it can increase your blood pressure, & it can make you retain water.
All of these issues could make losing your baby weight more difficult, so why not reduce as many obstacles as possible? Many prepackaged foods have way too much salt in them to be good for us, so you need to read labels.
Read Labels To take control of your salt intake (among many other things), you need to read the labels of the foods you buy.
Once you see how much sodium is added to prepackaged foods, you'll probably stop buying some of the products you do today.
You'll also notice what else is in these foods, including the amount of fat & the number of calories.
Buyer beware of another thing: Many prepackaged foods are more than 1 serving, so pay attention to how many portions the nutritional information includes.
You need to give yourself the best opportunities possible to help you lose that weight.
That leads us to portion control.
Portion Control Reading labels also extends to portion control.
If you're looking at a label of a can of soup, you'll notice how much sodium is in it (crazy, right?!) Also make note of how many servings that's based on.
Often times it's 2, so you need to double all of the numbers (sodium, fat, calories, cholesterol, etc.
) since most of us eat at whole can of soup in 1 sitting.
YIKES, huh? Just when you thought you were eating a healthy can of soup, you ended up eating way too many calories & fat in 1 meal, which inadvertently sabotaged your weight loss plan for the day.
It pays to read the labels ahead of time so you're not surprised later.
Either only eat the 1 serving or don't buy those foods any longer.
Stay tuned for more tips on how to lose your baby weight.
We're just getting started.
Next I'll be talking about metabolism & what you need to do to get it going so you can lose that weight!
