How to Cash Checks Payable to a Business
- 1). Open a business bank account at your bank. This is the easiest way to cash a check made out to your business.
- 2). Register your personal account with a DBA, which stands for "doing business as." You can have this written on your checks with your name, such as "John Smith DBA John's Plumbing," and it allows you to cash checks using your personal account.
- 3). Endorse your check correctly so it doesn't get returned for being improperly endorsed.
- 4). Fill out a deposit slip for the amount of the check and any other checks or cash you have to deposit. Write the amount in cash that you would like back from the deposit on the slip in the space provided.
- 5). Deposit your check into your account. Make sure to write or stamp "For Deposit Only" on the back of the check. Receive your cash and count it.
