The Truth About Why People are Unsuccessful in Starting a Home-Based Business

101 12
I just celebrated my one year anniversary with my mlm company. I guess that is a milestone. From what I hear, when starting a home-based business, most people quit within three months.

Being in the industry for a year, I can see why.

I was first introduced to my company at an office meeting…one of those group presentations. I remember walking in not knowing exactly what this "interview" was about.

The details weren't too clear in the Craigslist ad I read and I can see why.

They want to get you to the presentation and let the presentation sell you on joining.

Great strategy. It works.

I didn't know anything about starting a home-based business or the industry, but I knew I wanted the passive income that the top leaders described for me in the presentation.

So I got on board starting a home-based business not even knowing what a multilple level marketing company was.

Since it was December, I had time over the holidays to research the industry. I was determined to learn everything I could about starting a home-based business.

I came across different affiliate and direct sales marketing companies.

I was overwhelmed with all of the inspiring rags to riches stories that I came across.

Being in a low place myself at that time, I saw hope for the first time in almost a year.

So I got in…and struggled.
Boy, did I struggle.
The thing is EVERYTHING was out of my comfort zone. Absolutely everything.

Talk about chasing my tail.

And nothing I tried actually worked.

I remember running a bunch of CraigsList ads and then spending hours on the phone confirming dozens of people for this live presentation at our office.

I was so excited. I thought for sure I had finally hit the jackpot!

I just knew I got it figured out and was on my way to riches.

BUT THEN,
No one showed up.

I saw my other team members with guests, but none of mine showed up.
I was so bummed and ANGRY!

I could not figure out what I was doing wrong.

Yet, I continued and was committed to starting a home-based business.

I had to.

And that's the difference.

By coincidence, I connected with someone on Facebook who introduced me to another marketing company.

Again, I was inspired by all of the success stories…more rags to riches…triumph in the face of adversity stories.

Given that I too was in that same starting point, I jumped in.
I'm glad I did.  However, this is what they don't tell you in the beginning….

Most of the people with the greatest income stories…struggled…a lot in the beginning.
But they had a burning desire to succeed.

Because they didn't have a choice.

The reason why most people don't make it in this industry is because they don't have a burning desire.

They don't need to succeed as badly as the leaders did because they have something else to fall back on.

When you are out of options, you will do whatever it takes to be successful. When you're comfortable, it's easy to just walk away when things get tough.

It comes down to a burning desire and need to succeed. Most people get in with the illusion that this is quick and easy…that they don't have to work and over come challenges.

If they are comfortable with their life, and don't have a burning desire to succeed. They just give up and throw in the towel when the going gets tough.

And that is why most people fail at starting a home-based business.
