How to Rig a Power Bait
- 1). Slip an egg sinker over the tag end of the monofilament fishing line.
- 2). Attach one end of a three-way swivel to the tag end of the fishing line using an improved clinch knot. The three-way swivel provides connecting points for two monofilament leaders and also acts as a stop that prevents the sinker from getting too close to your bait.
- 3). Use improved clinch knots to attach two monofilament leaders between 18 and 30 inches long to the other ends of the three-way swivel.
- 4). Use improved clinch knots to attach a size 18 treble hook to the tag end of each leader.
- 5). Mold a piece of Powerbait around each treble hook. Use just enough bait to completely cover the entire hook. The bouyancy of the Powerbait keeps the hook suspended off the bottom while the egg sinker keeps the bait from rising further than the length of the leader.
