How to Find African American Greeting Cards

104 9
    • 1). Visit local card shops. Some card shops have different cultural sections, especially if you live in a culturally diverse area. If you need an African-American greeting card in a pinch, then a specialty card shop, such as Hallmark or American Greetings, in a diverse neighborhood is your best bet.

    • 2). Browse the selection on It's a Black Thang (see Resources section below), a website that sells African-American greeting cards for holidays such as Christmas, Mother's Day and Father's Day. If you don't want to place an order every time a holiday arises, then consider purchasing your cards in bulk for the whole year.

    • 3). Browse Etsy for homemade African-American greeting cards (see Resources). Websites like Etsy, where people sell their own homemade items, including greeting cards, are great for finding specialized items, and the items are usually much better than anything that you would find in a store.

    • 4). Visit your local African-American history museum, or a museum that has an African-American art display. Most museums have gift shops that reflect the kind of items that they have on display, so if a museum is displaying something distinctly African-American, then chances are they will have cards that are African-American, too.

    • 5). Create your own African-American greeting cards on a website such as Cafe Press (see Resources). These website allow you to create your own greeting cards, or other items, and then order them. You can upload your own artwork, photos and sayings to create your cards.
