Bistecca alla Florentine Recipe
This is the traditional Italian Steak recipe. The New York strip is seasoned lightly with salt, pepper, and a little lemon. Serve it up with garlic mashed potatoes and you'll have a great meal.

Mediterranean Eye Round Steaks
Ingredients
- 2 boneless new york strip steaks 1 inch thick
- 2 lemons
- 2 tablespoons/30 mL olive oil
- 2 teaspoons/10 mL sea salt
- 1/2 teaspoon/2.5 mL coarse ground black pepper
- Prep Time: 10 minutes
- Cook Time: 15 minutes
- Total Time: 25 minutes

Preparation
Juice one lemon and pour into a shallow baking dish. Cut the other lemon into 4 wedges, set aside. Place steaks in dish and coat on both sides with juice. Let steaks sit in dish for 10 minutes. Remove steaks from lemon juice, place onto cutting board and season with equal parts salt and black pepper. Preheat grill for medium-high heat. Grill steaks to desired doneness (about 7-8 minutes per side for medium rare).Remove from grill let rest for 2 minutes then slice across the grain into strips about 1/2 inch thick. Place on serving platter, drizzle with olive oil, and top with additional salt and pepper if needed. Serve with remaining lemon wedges.
