- 1). Download Trend Micro Internet Security from the Trend Micro website. You can either download a version of the application for a 30-day trial or you can purchase the product.
- 2). Install the product by following the on-screen instructions. Once you have installed the product, you can start using Trend Micro Internet Security for your computer.
- 3). Look at the small red icon on the bottom right hand corner of your computer. This icon shows the state of Trend Micro Internet Security. When the icon is flashing the application is receiving an update, when the icon has an exclamation point the application is not fully protecting your computer and when the icon is static it means that the application is working.
- 4). Double-click the icon to open up the Security Settings menu. From here, you can control the various settings include your virus and spyware controls, home network and firewall controls, Internet and security controls and various other settings.
- 5). Click the "Scan Now" button once you have configured your security settings to start scanning for spyware or viruses. If there is anything on your computer, Trend Micro Internet Security will ask you to either quarantine, fix or delete the files. Choose one of these options and click on "Next." Your computer will be cleaned.
